From June 03 through June 29, 2002,Turkiye team surprised the world with a high quality soccer, an excellent 

defense and attacking strategy, and individual skills. Only in the semifinal match, Brazil  stopped Turkiye (1:0)

Turkiye being the only team to actually resistance against the future champions. On June 29, Turkiye defeated 

the excellent team of Korea (3:2), thus capturing the bronze. What a great accomplishment for a country that  

5th seeded for 10 years ago.Turkiye is 1st seeding team today, front of England in group 7 Euro qualifying 

section.
